Week 12

The Last 2 weeks have been very busy in college, with all the assessments being completed.

The Website Design for the Web Applications, going really well, i would say that we will have it compeleted by Tues the 1st, so that is good news.

As for the Database Design Project, we're well on the way, i think, maybe, a few minor changes but i have looked over design and it seems to be a good one.

There is one more assessment for MIS, an assessments on Ms Excel 2007, i think the test is one main question with various parts of other questions added in.

Last Friday, we got a sample Timetable for our Xmas exams, it looks to be fairly hectic, putting it mildly, Our Exams are Mon 15th,Tues 16th, Fri 18th & Sat 19th at 10am, i will be exhausted , but the only concelation is that all the exams will be over, and i can relax a little over Christmas, and catch up on my beauty sleep ! (Ha,Ha!)

This week apparently, there will be another public servants strike on Thurs, the 1st time, i say, fair enough, maybe they do have the right to strike, but if the strike on Thurs. goes ahead then those public servants will be taking the cake, to put it another way !.
The one downside of these strikes,is that the entire college will be shut for the whole day, and when you need labs to finish off assignments due for the end of the week, then students have every right to be cheesed off.
Hopefully our database design will be ready to hand in on Friday, that will be a weight off of my mind.

So to conclude, basically i will be very busy studying over the next 2-3 weeks, i hope to have another post up before then.

'Til then. Bye.

Just Another Week

Another week at Cit, and i know that this post is long overdue.

The only problem i have at the moment, is that the assesments & course just seem to be constantly staking up,and i'm finding it really difficult to keep tabs on all that's going on,because different subjects want different things done at different times.

So i'll just say that is the reason for the delay between my last post.

In college this week, a lot of goings-on.

On the academic side, Our web Design group met at all of our timetabled class hours this week& also for a free hour on Tues. & Thurs, trying to arrange an decent layout of each of the pages of our "Hi-Tiles" website design project.
I've been working on the "Special Offers" page on the site,i'm trying to work on the idea of the template, that special offers has more than just tiles, but i'm confined by the fact there's only so much text can be put on one page.

Our Database Project for Hi-Cone, is coming along as well, with my group,we analysed the project with 20 or so questions we wanted answered, the only problem, the comapny responses are some what vague, and can be open to a different interpretation, and some questions they avoided to answer directly. So again that is a working in progress also.

Away from college, all the news over the last few days has been the World Cup playoff game between Ireland & France, and the most obvious handball by Thierry Henry, which he admitted but there is no chance of a replay i think, because Fifa changed the rules for the play-offs, to make sure the bigger countries, like France, made it to the World Cup.
That being said, If Ireland had played like they did on Wednesday, in the other group matches against Italy & Bulgaria, etc. We may not have needed the play-offs, it is a missed oppertuinty but people can't be too dissapointed,we should have looked to win the Croke Park game first, and then see where the cards fell.

The last few days,in fact, the majority of this week has been nothing but constant rain, and last night there was unbelievable flooding in the city, apparently some people were surfing at 5am this morning,no need for the beach!!.
And to top that there was a chip pan fire in my apartment block at around 12am, It was great fun standing out in the cold in November at 12am,in short sleeves, it's a must for any adrenaline junkie !!.

That all the news i have for now, 'til the time...

Time is Moving On

It's already week 9, and things are starting to get very busy, with all these different assignments trying to be before the emd of the semester.

I spent a lot of last weekend trying to figure out to do my database project that must be completed by Dec. 4th. The only difficultly is that there is i think, to much information, for such a short space of time.

Another assignment that we have to do is the Web site project for Web Applications, but i feel a bit more confident of getting that finished, because we started last week, with the site map part so that basically sets out the pages & content we have to do for the next few weeks and design the web pages.

On Sunday night, i watched the Chelsea v Man Utd game on Tv, one real bad challenge was by Jonny Evans on Didier Drogba, Evans caught Drogba right in the chest, with his boot, i thought he should have been sent off,but he was very, very lucky, after that Chelsea scored, and went on to win. That being said, My Dad who's a ManU fan, was not impressed.

Looking forward now, the big game on Saturday, Ireland v France, Hopefully We can get a goal or 2, It would great to knock the French out, Come on Ireland!

So i'll be busy for the next few weeks, with all these assignments, Oh the joys of 3rd Year, i'll be glad to see the back of them.

Bye for now.

A Busy Week

This week is very because, on i've got to submit my Podcasting report for Web Application before Friday.
Also for Web Applications, our group must submit a site map as part of our website design project so that has got to be worked on, and i've got a assesment on friday, for Databses which is going to be very difficult,we have to design a database table from scratch.

So,as you can probably see it's going to be a pretty hectic week for me, and i have to get a real move on with my database case study project for week 12, so time is crucial for the next few weeks.

Just writing this post now, is making me feel tired !

Anyway, bye for now.

Bank Holiday

I was very busy for the last few days, tryig to finish off two assignments for law & web applications.

Thankfully now, the law assignment is finished, and the most of the web applications report hopefully finished by the end of this week, Happy Days!

Spent the most of Sunday watching the Liverpool vs Man Utd game on Tv.

What a match, and an even better result, 2-0, and it just goes to show, how important Fernando Torres is the liverpool side, he was absolutely outstanding, he really skined Rio Ferdinand for the 1st goal, and David N'Gog added salt to the wounds with a 2nd in injury time in the Kop, fantastic!

Any win against ManYoo! is a good win. And there was no need for any beachballs!
The most pleasing sight was the look on Fergie's face at the end, a face like thunder!.

Yesterday i spent most of it, finishing off the law report, college is get very hectic because the number of exams and assesments keep comming up quicker with every passing week.
On Saturday night i could afford myself the luxury of a few games of Fifa 09 on my PS3, I've got a league started with Liverpool, just started my 6th season, having won 6 trophies at the previous season, and ended the entire season unbeaten, pretty impressive!

Anyway, that's all for now.

Done & Dusted

On Sunday Jenson Button, finally, won the 2009 F1 Driver's Championship.

Now I must admit, i was rooting for Rubens Barrichello, but it is amazing to think that the Brazilian Gp, could be such an unlucky event for a driver who grew up near the Interlagos track.

Lap 62 of the 71 lap race,Barrichello suffer a devastating puncture, that killed off his championship aspirations.

While the english media, are basking the fact the for the second year in a row, a english driver is Formula One Champion, Brazil is still waiting for its next world champion, after 2 heartbreaking disappointments in succesive seasons.
Next up Abu Dhabi on November 1st, should be interesting!

Vettel stays in the Hunt

A pole to flag victory for Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, still keeps the young German with a mathimatical chance of taking the 2009 Driver's Championship.

The 22 year-old, dominated from start to finish in Suzuka, with the only real pressure coming from Mclaren's Ker-aided Lewis Hamilton, that apart, Japan was a breeze for the Milton Keynes based team, with Italy's Jarno Trulli, who's future has been under threat in recent weeks, answering his critcs, with a well-deserved 2nd, and Lewis Hamilton following in 3rd.

Kimi Raikkonen, now as things stand without a drive for 2010, obviously that should change in the coming months, with Mclaren & Toyota rumoured to be vying for his services, the Flying Finn finished 4th in his Ferrari, Williams Nico Rosberg in 5th, Nick Heidlfeld for BMW-Sauber in 6th Place.

The final two points places went to the championship contenders, Rubens Barrichello(7th) & Jenson Button (8th), The Brawn Gp pair indulging in an exercise of damage limitation after falling foul of the race steward's in Saturday's Qualifying.

Button has drawn critisism from many corners through-out the summer, and in more recent races for only doing barely enough to tease out ans maintain a slim lead in the driver's title race, as BBC F1 commentator Martin Brundle put in recently, he felt Button was "Reversing his way to the title", As a fellow Englishman, Brundle obviously feels that Jenson is not being as dominant as he should be given Brawn's superiority in the early races of the season.

And with some vindication, it is nearly 4 months since Button crossed the line in Istanbul for his 6th win from 7 starts, since then is form has dropped alarmingly, substandard performances in qualifying and in races, added to that a 1st lap crash in Belgium, 2 victories to his team-mate Barrichello in Valencia & Monza, has put F1's elder statesman within a chance of the title at the age of 37.

As for Vettel, he too has made crucial mistakes at various stages this season, added to that the uncertain of the health of the Renault V8 powertrain in the back of the RB5, Red Bull must now thread carefully with regard to Vettel's engine in the remaining 2 rounds.

Next up, is Interlagos, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Any just like Lewis Hamilton, last Year, Button will have to overcome, a feverish partizan home-crowd, and a burning national pride, to deprive Barrichello of the title in his hometown.
